Commercial Description:
Au Naturale is an easy drinking, blonde ale. The ale has a crisp, clean body and a subtle malt sweetness. All organic German Pilsner, Vienna and CaraHell malts and German organic Hallertau hops are used for purity’s sake. The play on words lends itself not only to the organic ingredients in the beer, but also to the lifestyle of those of us who live at one with nature. Grab a bottle and join us in the hot spring!

Bottle from John’s Market in Portland, OR. Gold color with a decent white head. Faint grassy aroma. Rather bready flavor. Malt is balanced by some spicy grassy hop. Rather refreshing. Except for the flavor range it’s more lager than expected. However, a nice shot at an ale using lager ingredients. Crisp and refreshing.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with douglas88 (thanks!). Poured a lighter to medium and cloudy golden color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of toasted grains and some corn. Tastes of toasted grains, corn, and a trace of citrus.

Sampled at 99 Bottles in Federal Way. Called a Vienna Lager, I think it lacks some of the malt backbone to live up to that label. However, it’s got very solid malt body, and tangy hop bite. It’s light to be sure, but nicely drinkable.

Not bad, pretty pleasant drinking for a warm summer day. Toasty bread crust maltiness, with a hint of white pepper spice, and a light floral hoppiness in the finish.

Bottle from John’s Marketplace--Poured a straw golden slightly orange body with a thin white head. Typical boring golden ale. Drinkable but not delicious. Finished bready and dull.

Among the summery beers I’m trying right now, this is tops so far. Mild but pleasing floral aroma, floral and honey character in the flavor, and a smooth, velvety finish. The brewery had set up a little tasting table at John’s here in town and among the three they had to taste (this, the IPA, and the Bitch Creek ESB) this was the nicest, hence why I brought a bottle home for rating.
