Commercial Description:
Au Naturale is an easy drinking, blonde ale. The ale has a crisp, clean body and a subtle malt sweetness. All organic German Pilsner, Vienna and CaraHell malts and German organic Hallertau hops are used for purity’s sake. The play on words lends itself not only to the organic ingredients in the beer, but also to the lifestyle of those of us who live at one with nature. Grab a bottle and join us in the hot spring!

12oz bottle acquired in trade with douglas88 (thanks!). Poured a lighter to medium and cloudy golden color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of toasted grains and some corn. Tastes of toasted grains, corn, and a trace of citrus.

Clear golden color with a moderate wispy off-white head. Aromas of dusty dry pale malt, some dry herbs and lemon zest. Fairly light and touch fizzy feel. Orange zest and pale malt in the front. Some grains in the middle along with some more citric acid. Finish and a mix of dryed flowers and and herbs. The linger is fairly uninviting, with dry weeds and slightly fermented corn.

Bottle: Golden, greenish, light head and some lacing. Nose of sweet pleasant malts, light nobles and a grassy husk and grain. The flavor is balanced, nice grainy and grassy flavor. Finishes malt. Nice but a bit lacking.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy dark yellow, unfiltered. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, bread), moderately hoppy (honeysuckle flowers, herbs, resin), with notes of honey. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. An ale version of a Czech pils, more or less, but not as bitter. Nice aroma, good balance...a surprisingly decent beer overall. Quite a bit better than the Old Faithful.

Bottle from John’s Market in Portland, OR. Gold color with a decent white head. Faint grassy aroma. Rather bready flavor. Malt is balanced by some spicy grassy hop. Rather refreshing. Except for the flavor range it’s more lager than expected. However, a nice shot at an ale using lager ingredients. Crisp and refreshing.

Dark gold body with a lightly off white head. The aroma has some sweet peaches and bread dough. There is also some sunflowers. The taste has sweet rotting canned peaches with some nasty flat Sprite. Smells and tastes like partially fermented wort. There is not much in this unbalanced mess to recommend. A disappointment from a normally solid brewer.

A new beer from Grand Teton Brewing. Purchased a single 12-oz bottle at the brewery, southeast of Victor, Idaho. Pours a semi-clear golden pale blonde brew with an average white head that quickly dissolves to a white ring. Aroma of light bready malt, some hint of corn adjunct, and grassy hops. Taste is light bodied, average carbonation with flavors of crystal and crisp bread malt and grassy hops. Finish has a light citrus zest and bread malt aftertaste that quickly changes to a clean cut and crisp finish.
