| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 6, 2008 First Grand Teton brew for me, I like ESBs, so here we go: a very dark body, almost brown ale like, reddish brown, big 3 finger head that settles slowly to a 1/2 finger sticky layer, it leaves behind some lacing to show where you’ve been... overall, appearance is strong as well as the sweetened malt aromas, some hops are present but definately the chocolatey, nutty sweetness of the roasted malts dominate, they’re not complex, but asked to be noticed... it’s more browny ale in the body than traditional ESBs, hops bitterness provide some breakup to the malty body... palate is medium... overall, very drinkable and I enjoyed it. jizzatch (1), , Kentucky, USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 5, 2008 surprisingly dark amber color. nice aroma. not too sweet, not too bitter. kind of a semi-sweet chocolate flavor. dry finish. kmeves (1081), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 2, 2008 12 oz. bottle served in a shaker pint glass. Poured a dark amber with a finger of tan head. Nice malty aroma with caramel/molasses and some hops. Medium bodied with a rich malt profile. More caramel and a lingering chocolate malt flavor. Dry finish from both malt and hops. Fair amount of hop bitterness for the style. Very drinkable. Great beer for malt lovers. k9coug (41), USA

I found it very maly with a great color. After taste faded quickly. It was appropriately hoppy, not overly bitter as other ESB’s often are. AgentSteve (1379), SF Bay Area, California, USA

A good balanced ESB flavor which sits more on the lighter side. Fantastic beer, I’m not usually a fan of ESB as they tend to be far to harsh, but this finished clean and solid.
