Hazy, dark red pour with thick, foamy tan head, a great malty, chocolaty, nutty and pineapple nose, light chocolate taste with little bitterness and a smooth finish. An impressive example of the style. boFNjackson (1322), Portland, Oregon, USA

Sweet chocolate and butter-malt flavors that are accompanied by hops. Finished with smoked toffee flavors. unclemike (833), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 21, 2008 DAMN! This is the darkest ESB I believe I have ever seen. It’s such a dark smoky/amber body that it’s almost porter like…with its dense and heavily laced tan head. The aroma and flavor are full of toffee, a bit of coco and a hint of bittering coffee and peat. This Bitch Creek’s palate is rather full and creamy and the finish is chary dry. Overall: a rather phenomenal ESB. This is one I would gladly drink on regular occasion LinusStick (1851), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 20, 2008 Courtesy Secret Santa July- A delicious ESB! Aroma was a nice mix of grapefruity hops and roasted caramel malt. Pour was a nice deep brown with a patchy fluffy near tan head. Taste was big and full flavored. Strong caramel malt, toffee and roastiness with a solid grassy and citrusy hoppy aftertaste. Very delicious! spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 11, 2008 A little too much of the citrus hop profile for a classic ESB, still a nice beer. Bitter / sweet. Just right in the balance. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Lots of citrus hops, bitter and sharp. Malts give a toasted bready quality, caramel, but the hops are the focus. The hops were very floral and quenching. Good ESB, one that I didn’t think would stand out but I really enjoyed. rustychiles (1058), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 3, 2008 Pours a dark ruby color with a nice soapy off white head. Aroma of malt, hops, citrus and biscuit. Flavor is malt, hops, citrus and finishes with a bitter dusty hop taste. Better than I anticipated. GreatLibations (1454), Last Supper, Arizona, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 2, 2008 Pours dark cherry wood w/ a tall relentless head. Thick malty aromas revealing biscuits and citrus. Full nectar w/ juicy carbonation. A thick malt backbone supports a balancing hop profile that brings charm to this beer. A defined roast component penetrates adding dimension. The finish is bittred nicely leaving a citrusy afterflow.
