| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 29, 2008 This dark brown ale poured with a decent tan head and a malt aroma. There is some caramel malt sweetness in the flavor, but also a nice hop balance that creates a tasty bitter finish. Dogbrick (2864), Columbus, Ohio, USA

This beer is a dark brown color with ruby around the edges. Medium beige head that dissipates slowly, and spotty lacing. Aroma of bready malt, hops and touches of fruit. Medium-bodied and moderately bitter with flavors of hops, caramel malt and grain. The finish is hoppy with a lindgering bitterness. Not too bad for my first Idaho beer. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 30, 2008 May 2006 - Surprisingly dark pour on this one with excellent head and lacing. Just beautiful. Aroma and initial taste was piney hops, surprising for an ESB. The flavor on this one was very complex for an ESB and somewhat different. A rich malty character with some breadiness and a definite toffee taste with maybe even a touch of a chocolate flavor. The initial strong piney hop presence diminished as it warmed as some more citrus hop tones emerged. A very nice hop/malt balance in this one. Very well done!. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Purchased a single 12-oz bottle at the brewery, southeast of Victor, Idaho. Pours a semi-hazy dark reddish brown brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of semi-dry caramel malt, a touch of grassy and flowery hops with a hint of toffee. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation, with a dry caramel flavor with a good balance of grapefruit zest and citrus hop character. Finish is semi-dry with a mild bitter aftertaste that lingers long after the finish. A decent balance ESB. joe1510 (501), Illinois, USA

Recieved Bitch Creek as an extra from the excellent trader known as BitterBill, thanks Bill. Bitch Creek pours a murky amber with very few carbonation bubbles rising to the surface. A two finger dirty beige head appeared on the pour but fell to a half finger crown leaving some sheet lacing on it’s way down.
This beer is packed to the gills with toasted grain. There’s some of that faint powdered iced tea aroma floating around in there as well but the toastiness takes the cake. With a little warming there’s some caramel coming through. Enjoyable but somewhat one dimensional.
The big toastiness is upfront and leads throughout. Some mild caramel comes along just before a subtle floral hoppiness comes along to create a perfect balance. Some fruity esters are present on the backend. All this comes together to create an enjoyable highly drinkable ESB.
The mouthfeel is spot on. Medium body comes through the mouth with an incredible velvety texture. Smooth and creamy all the way. A pure pleasure in the mouth.
With the subtle well balanced flavors and the silky smooth mouthfeel this beer goes down incredibly easy.
This beer continues to grow on me as I drink. I don’t visit this style too often and truthfully I’m not sure why. This is an excellent beer that would make a great quaffer if the abv. wasn’t so high. The 6.5% is unnoticeable.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 30, 2007 Poured from a bottle. Poured a auburn brown color with a decent off-white head. Aroma of citrus hops. Some caramel and toffee-like malt flavors lead into an earthy, somewhat minerally hop hit. Finish is semi-bitter. Sort of thin, but doesn’t really affect the beer. omhper (12247), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 19, 2007 Bottled. Dark ruby/brown, small head. Light grapefruity aroma. Medium sweet with clean crystal malt character. Medium bodied with restrained American style graepfruity hop profile. Shooting for balance it seems, but needs deeper, softer malt to achieve greatness. Still a highly enjoyable beer.
