Commercial Description:
Bitch Creek perfectly balances big malt sweetness and robust hop flavor for a full bodied, satisfying mahogany ale. Like the stream for which it is named, our Bitch Creek ESB is full of character... Not for the timid.

Very dark ruby colored body. I like the light off white head that has an orange tinit. The aroma is rich with black tea leaves, toffee and some old musty leaves. SImilar to a marzen, but with that rich yet subtle fruit character in a bitter. The taste is dark chocolate and tea. There is also some roasted peanuts. A toasty finsh makes this like a lighter porter. I like this one a lot.

Pretty redwood color with a nice beige rocky head. Outstanding caramel-hoppy aroma. Tart and enticing ... citric hoppiness starts it off, and it’s rounded off with a piney, woody bitterness. Excellent.

Bottle poured a clear brown with a small amber head. Aromas of dark bread, carmel, and some pine and bitter citrus. Palate was medium bodied smooth and a bit dry. Flavors of carmel, a hint of coca, and then the bitter citrus hops kick in. A very tasty ESB!

Clear amber appearance, good head formation. Cookie, caramel malts aroma with plenty of piney hop, grapefruit citrus. Initially sweet flavor, caramel, candy cane with plenty of grapefruit hop citrus kicking in late then taking over in the aftertaste. A little thin in body, especially for the style, but very tastey stuff.

Bottle: This has a lovely dark, amber clear coloe with lots o’ lacing all over the glass. It wasn’t as bitter as most ESB’s but was still exquisite. You could taste the alcohol even though the level isn’t high. The sweetness also brought to mind rich, dark brown sugar and molasses. Not only is it sweeter than other ESB’s, its bigger than others too. As far as bitterness though, I did start to pick up on some grapefruit flavors toward the end. The feel is thin and easy to drink. Good.

This beer came in my beer club. It is not a brewer I am familiar with. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a dark ruby chestnut color with a small tan head that fades quickly. The aroma is malty and has a crisp floral hop character and a hint of chocolate. The flavor is caramel, crisp hops and a sour tang that turns vaguely nutty on the finish.
