On most occations, I don’t change ratings for packaging, but this was a memorably nice presentation--extra point. A toasty, oaky beer, rounded edges, caramel. Surprised to see this is just 7.5%. Would have placed this a bit stronger. M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Espresso and chocolates. Very strong sweet icing sugar mouth, carries as malty with espresso. Lasts through. (Marked as homo beer in my notebook, thanks oh6gdx). harrisoni (6798), Ashford, Kent, England

The aroma is hoppy and smoky with great fruits and malts. The taste has a long sticky soy sauce finish together with the fruits and malts. A really tasty great beer seriously underrated here IMO. Everything an imperial stout should be. Tastes again of coffee and chocolate. Damn! jcwattsrugger (5333), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is lots of dark malt-licorice. Taste is lots of dark malt-licorice, some astringency from Jim Beam-silky. Not my style. (3.3 from 2 friends that shared this)

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 2, 2007 2005 vintage bottle thanks to Indiana_Red sampled on 7/2/06: Pours a mostly opaque black with dark brown edges and a thin ring of tan head. Sweet caramel malt and soy sauce aroma has a touch of fresh piny hops. Body starts with a thick viscous caramel maltiness and a touch of dark fruity complexity before a lightly tart earthy roasted dark chocolate finish. A pretty good imperial stout, but would be better with less tartness.
