Medium to dark amber, slight floaties. Rich malt aroma, molasses and caramel abound. Faint citrus and floral hops as well. Sweet. Dark fruits. Flavor matches, with more fruitiness emerging as opposed to malt depth in the flavor. Nice. In fact, highly enjoyable. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Once we got through the wax, this was very close to a barleywine. Copper color with minimal head and floaties! Aroma is bread, cereal, toffee, caramel. Taste is more malty cereal, dates and raisins. Very thick and chewy. I wrote in my notes "effervescence is appropriate," whatever that means. Really good beer. Bravo Idaho!
1L waxed fliptop bottle from jjpm74. Thanks! Pours a dark caramel color with a large head. Caramel, toffee, nuts and hops in the aroma. Taste is nuts, caramel, tea and mild hop notes. Medium-full bodied. Alcohol not noticeable. Soft carbonation. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Dark brown body with chunky bits and a medium creamy off-white head. Huge molassas and caramel aroma with rum soaked fruit. Sweet molassas and rum soaked fruit flavor and a dry floral and citrus hop finish. Medium full body with moderate carbonation. jpaliga10 (7), Indiana, USA does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 18, 2008 Don’t open this and expect any amber you’ve had before... Carbonation may be problematic. Aroma is cidery, like apples. Taste is strong, complex, like apple jam on a toasted croissant. Delicious, really. Would be a great dinner beer. Sweetness and toffee maltiness compliment each other well... hopdog (5604), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
