Ron (1002), Rochester, New York, USA Nov 6, 2009 1ltr swing top bottle. Dark copper pour with a small white head. Sweet malty aroma with a very slight funk, some sweet spice and a little banana. More sweetness in the flavor, an apple fruitiness, more banana and sweet spice. Good stuff. jb (1024), Rochester, New York, USA Nov 6, 2009 Helped Ron down his 1k beer and he picked a good one. This was an outstanding beer. Reddish, massive light tan head. Fruity, sour yeast, dark fruit, bubble gum. Bubbly, excellent palate, sticky sweet, sour mash, plums. Thick carpeting of lacing was left. I really enjoyed this, thanks Ron and congrats! daknole (2810), Plantation, Florida, USA Oct 29, 2009 Amber pour. Cany aroma with honey, syrup and orange peel. Flavor is loaded with honey, malt and yeast. jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Oct 28, 2009 Bottle: A light copper pour with a finger of creamy off-white head. Thick sheet lacing. Aroma is sweet, citrus, bubble gum, bananas, and cloves. Flavor is light up front, a little sweet fruity bit with some cinnamon, before a rich and crisp finish. Apples and wheat in the middle before a lingering finish of yeast and cloves. Fun.

Pours cloudy amber, beige head.
Aroma, is yeasty, fruity; apple, malty with hints of spices.
Flavor, malty, apple, chocolate malts, light grainy mouthfeel, sugary with the yeast being quite present. Overall palate also has a medium spicy finish. dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 19, 2009 Bottle courtesy Ditmeir. Hazy orange amber pour. Malty, banana, yeasty fresh crushed grain aroma. Big banana, malty yeast, some fruit in the taste. Expected a bit more weizen in this. Not bad. JPDIPSO (4865), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Oct 15, 2009 Dark amber color with a full heavy looking, off-white head. Sweet fruit and aromas of banana, peach and dough. Some underlying scents of cloves and yeast. Flavors follow in line with the aromas. Sweet fruit and wheat in the front, with spice and hops in the middle to finish. A touch too sweet for me, especially when the alcohol starts to show up. Alcohol adds some sweetness and additional peppery spice. Close, but no cigar. It gets a bit to cloying for me. SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Oct 14, 2009 Draught at The Red. Hazy dark orange with a smaller creamy head. The aroma is spicy yeast with bright fruitiness, some alcohol, and dark caramelized malt. The flavor is vaguely fruity with an almost berry touch that is accented by the prominent alcohol bite that also accentuates the spiced note from the yeast. The mouthfeel is lighter and bites with some alcohol. This tastes much stronger than 8%, but manages to be both sweet and thinly hot with alcohol. I’m not getting much if any of the darker malt complexities or banana fruitiness that I like in the style, and the alcohol is just too obtrusive. Almost tastes more like a decent belgian ale, but not a very good weizenbock.
