Commercial Description:
Lost Continent Double IPA has an astonishing three pounds of hops per barrel in the kettle and another pound per barrel of "dry-hops" added after fermentation, bringing this beer to 90+ IBUs. Starting with an original gravity of 22˚ Plato (1.088 SG), this is a full-bodied beer weighing in at 8.0% ABV. The hops provide citrusy, resinous spiciness, making this beer a great match for any bold food. Try it with prime rib, Cajun blackened pork or chicken, Thai, Indian or Vietnamese cuisine.

pours like liquid cramel with a thick creamy head that lingers. I smell sweet juicy malt and citrus. Full luscious nectar w/ creamy chewy residual effers. A copious malt backboe bench presses a ton of spiney hop sacks producing flavors of caramel and pine resin. A defined sweetness overshadows the bittering to a point yet never reaching cloying. A fantastic specimen

Bottle: Murky copper look with a nice off-white head and sticky lacing. Sweet hop aroma and next morning beer breath and perhaps, something a tiny bit smoky. The taste is kind of metallic and deodorant like which obviously gets in the way of the expected flavor. But, this can be looked past. Other flavors are bitter hops with a some sweetness in the aftertaste, almost malty. The body is thick and fluffy giving your mouth its money’s worth. It definitely isn’t my favorite and was honestly expecting something a little better. Idaho micros need to represent.

12 ounce bottle purchased from the Davis Food Co-Op. Very pleasant, aromatic, sweet, citrus, grainy, herbal, earthy, orange hop aroma. Very reminiscent of Yulesmith. Nice. Moderately hazy orange-copper body with a large, strong, off-yellowish head that leaves great lacing. Some orange, citrus flavors to start, before this becomes a bit husky with a late astringent, slightly sour mouthfeel. There is a bit of sweet maltiness present, too. Finishes with herbal hops. This is just a bit too tart, and it seems more like an infection than anything. Too bad, cause this has a ton of potential.

Bottle. Big floral aroma on the nose. Bloody orange body with off white head. Good citrus flavor of oranges and grapefruit with a citrus vine resin also. Thick sugary chewy body texture with a big dose of dry bittering. Good brew.

12oz – Thanks, ditmier! Hazy dark orange, thick off white creamy head. Thick peachy pine and grapefruit hop aromas ride soft waves of toffee and hints of brown sugar. Soft bitter citric pine and mango notes balance very well on a sturdy foundation of caramel and toffee from beginning to end. Full bodied, soft carbonation, bittersweet finish. A very flavorful D-IPA without a major bite…

Pour is a cloudy orange with a large white head. Aroma has plenty of fresh pine hoppyness. Flavor is an intense hop with some strong bitterness. Lots of citrus left on the tounge after the swallow with almost no malts present. A decent offering and something i enjoyed quite well.

Pours a hazy amber with a thin white head. Smells of citrus, dry malt. Tastes of grapefuit, pineapple, orange, dry malt. Big hoppiness. Nicely balanced.

Bottle from Snoejerk321. Thanks man! This one has a rather sweet-ish nose with some candy orange and lemon notes and some caramel as well. Pours murky bright orange brown with little to no head. The flavor is mostly sweet with a good deal of sugary notes followed by orange candy citrus, light piney bitterness and nothing really lingering. Rather full and malty, not cloying, but could have used a little less sweetness IMO.
