Commercial Description:
Lost Continent Double IPA has an astonishing three pounds of hops per barrel in the kettle and another pound per barrel of "dry-hops" added after fermentation, bringing this beer to 90+ IBUs. Starting with an original gravity of 22˚ Plato (1.088 SG), this is a full-bodied beer weighing in at 8.0% ABV. The hops provide citrusy, resinous spiciness, making this beer a great match for any bold food. Try it with prime rib, Cajun blackened pork or chicken, Thai, Indian or Vietnamese cuisine.

Dark orange hue with thin ring of white head, sticky lacing. Nose is pine resin and thick bread malts and light citrus. Flavor is a thick balanced DIPA with plenty of rich malty backbone to complement the sticky resiny hop flavor, touch of grass, orange citrus, honey, and caramel. Full-bodied, chewy texture, medium carbonation. A big and thick DIPA with lots of flavor and balance, not a hop bomb at all, borders on the barleywine style.

Courtesy of ditmier. Pours copper with gold hues and thin white head. The aroma is resiny with pine, grassiness, tree sap and citrus. The taste has malts and pine hops mixing to create a chewy resiny tasty sensation. It gets a bit citrusy toward the finish. Overall a nice brew but a bit timid for the style.

Bottle from naven. Tons of sweet, biscuity malt. A little watery. Left me searching for more hops. Below average. Thanks a lot Dave.

bottle. syrupy and sugary, no surprise, but at least somewhat clean in the malt department. sticky and syrupy body, heavy and weighty. honey and pine, some light citrus, light solvent notes. clean and simple, while not excellent it’s thankfully drinkable.

Bottle, from Bevmo. Really nice looking beer. Deep amber color. Really hazy, yeasty pour. Aroma is of citrus and spice. Flavor is really really sweet. Muted hops, and a really thick mouthfeel. Not bad, not great. Reminded me of 90 minute IPA, actually.

Bright orange hued cloudy straw body. Sickly sweet malt backbone lowlighted by caramel. Almost zero carbonation. Astringent and soapy with smackdown of stewed compost-bin veggies.
