Commercial Description:
Lost Continent Double IPA has an astonishing three pounds of hops per barrel in the kettle and another pound per barrel of "dry-hops" added after fermentation, bringing this beer to 90+ IBUs. Starting with an original gravity of 22˚ Plato (1.088 SG), this is a full-bodied beer weighing in at 8.0% ABV. The hops provide citrusy, resinous spiciness, making this beer a great match for any bold food. Try it with prime rib, Cajun blackened pork or chicken, Thai, Indian or Vietnamese cuisine.

Bottle from BevMo, La Mesa. Hazy, medium amber in color. Slightly sweet highly hopped aroma. Some spiciness. Quite sweet up front. Nicely hopped. Some alcohol. Finish has bitterness and a strong roasty quality.

Bottle:   Fiery amber, moderate frothy off-white head, fairly sticky lacing.   Malty, some biscuit, otherwise a caramel citrus peel aroma.   Heavy maltiness on the tongue, sweet citrus peel, some caramel malts, but also some light metallic notes.   Fairly heavy, and certainly my kind of Double IPA.   Not biting, but there is some alcohol warmth.   A little bit more sweetness might overpower that slight metallic note.   Fairly full bodied, mouthfeel is pretty thick.   That I like.   Decent finish, malty, nice hop presense, sweet, a little bitter, but does have a bit of astringency.   Otherwise this would be my kind of Double IPA.

Amber with dark yeast and a frothy large tan lacemaker of a head. Aroma of citrus, caramel malt and grains. Taste of caramel, grapefruit, mild resinous hops, sweet malt and mild alcohol. Mild bitterness on the backend, an average DIPA.

12oz bottle from Naven - thanks again. Hazy golden pour with a thin head and decent lacing hold. Sweet caramel malt and citrusy hop aroma. Sweet flavor with a bracing bitterness on the tongue. It’s got a medium mouth feel that is sticky and a long somewhat bitter and hot (alcohol) finish. Overall it’s a decent DIPA, well balanced, not overly hoppy.

Bottled. Darker orange with thinner white head. Alive. Aroma is of fruit, sweet caramel, and lighter citrus. Flavor is also sweet citrusy with some sweeter orange and more regular grapefruit notes. Only lightly bitter but balanced. Very well hidden booze.

12 oz. bottle- Pours golden orange with not much head, aroma is citrus, grass, and very floral. The flavor is a very mellow not overbearing Double IPA with an underlying bitterness that doesn’t fully develope until after the swallow. It’s a good thing I bought a four pack of this stuff because I already want more.

Bottle @ J.C.G. Pours unclear orange with a creamy lasting white head and lacings. Nose is sweet malty toffee with a bit of alcohol and hops. Pretty much like a US Barley Wine. Taste is hoppy orange and grapefruit. Sticky , smooth, crisp and warming. Lasting bitter punchy end. Nice.

On draught at the Alchemy in Madison: Poured a bright semi-cloudy golden- orange colour with nice fluffy head. Aroma is fun. Brigt and fresh with lots of citrus(as probably expected) and stinky hops. Taste is very astringent. Sort of on the dryer side and has a real firm hop kick. Yet delectable. Sweet and bitter at the same time. What funky beer! I love it :)
