Commercial Description:
Our Old Faithful Ale is a pale golden ale with a crisp body and light malt sweetness. We cold-conditioned this ale to give it a pleasantly smooth character and dry palate. The Willamette and imported UK Goldings hops give this beer a light floral hop aroma making it exceptionally easy to drink.

Golden-amber colour with soft carbonation and thin creamy head. All right, so it looks nice. The aroma has a slight blueberry fruitiness underneath a doughy malt character and earthy English hops. Sweetish palate has more doughy accents. The finish is quick - just a hint of pale malt. An uninspired recipe well-executed.

Creamed corn nose; nutty and somewhat sweet; floral hoppiness without the bittering; slick palate with moderate body; barely good

Clouded pale golden appearance, modest head formation. Mild caramel and biscuit aroma. Dryish palate with mild biscuity underbody, modest lemony hops. Not very interesting.

(12 oz bottle: BevMo in Carmel Mountain/San Diego, CA) A good example of "generic, entry-level, micro-brewed beer", this golden ale is mildly flavorful, moderately sweet, mildly malty and minimally hoppy, but definitely lacking character or distinctiveness. The aroma shows some stinkiness, and well, not much else. Light to medium body, just kind of exists, failing to excite the palate. Light golden color with a slight haziness. Off-white head was small, despite a rather vigorous pour, and subsided to a very small rim, leaving only a few, minute patches of lace. Sadly, thanks to the shithead policy at Bevmo, I had to buy a six-pack of this stuff. Good for parties where the guests just grab a random beer out of the cooler.

Courtesy of Indiana_Red: Pours a true golden color with a frothy and lightly-lacing white head. Pretty much nothing going on in the aroma, just some faint floral hops and a touch of sweet corn. Tastes lightly sweet and bitter with the definite presence of adjuncts. Has some strange off-flavors like grassiness, sawdust, and mild acidty toward the finish. The hop presence is decent but could use a little more malty balance. A drinkable beer, but that’s about it.

Thanks to Indiana Red for this one. This would make a good front-porch drinkin’ beer. Very light and slightly crispy. The sweetness in the finish gives way to a mild bitterness toward the end. Wish I was watchin’ the sunset in the mountains right now. Ho hum.

Pours a dark golden orange color. Small white head. Aroma is of wheat and malt. Taste is acidic and citrus, hops, and a slight malt kick at the end. Palate is bubbly. A tasty session beer! Thanks to Indiana Red for this tasty brew!
