Commercial Description:
We brewed Paradise with massive amounts of German Pilsner malt and more than two pounds per barrel of U.S. Vanguard hops, an American version of the noble German Hallertau Mittelfruh. It was fermented with lager yeast from a Bavarian monastery brewery, then dry-hopped with another pound per barrel of Vanguards. To maximize flavor, we chose not to filter the beer, keeping it in the German kellerbier (cellar beer) style. The result is pale and smooth, slightly cloudy with yeast. The flavor is clean, complex and malty, balanced with plenty of hop bitternes and fine hop aroma, with a pleasant warming sensation caused by the higher alcohol content.

A hazy dark yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with a light touch of hops. The flavor is sweet matly with a strong hop presence for a pilsener - and that being American hops. But calling it an Imperial Pilsener ofcourse demands lots of American hops.

RBSG DC 2006: Hazy yellow-straw colored body with a medium white, foamy, strong head. The aroma is earthy yeast, cellar, bitter fruit, sour apples, and light spice. The taste is strawberries, yeast, bitter cellar floor, musty, sweet floral hops, melon, watermelon rind, and orange rind.

bottle from tar and cb. poured a dark slightly fuzzt golden with a thick lasting head. aroma is a bit of wild prairie with some cheese and honey. straw honey, and egg whites are the main things i taste. some apple notes. a dry grass hint of hop flavor that leaves more floral than anything else. a weird malt sweetness that has some vanilla in it. an easy enough beer to drink.

Unfiltered golden. Ornately thick and sticky crown of dense white foam. Aroma consists of doughy yeast, lemon balm, and honeysuckle. Very soft hop character is both flowery and herbal. Fluffy carbonation. Initially quite unctuous and pungently hoppy, with a rousing surge of peppery alcohol which lends a dash of dryness. Candied pears provide significant suppleness, which absorbs some of the alcohol, though it remains fairly hot and especially brash on the swallow. Flavors become a bit muddled and rather sweet due to the undefined malt character and timid hop bitterness. Rather than cutting the body’s viscosity, the hops gently glide over the tongue and provide the daintiest of stings. Pilsner malt creates a cracker-dough effect and contributes plenty of backbone but, as with the alcohol, it’s quite grainy and lacks clear-cut definition. Finish is rather anticlimactic, as the bitterness remains backstage, and although the texture is pleasingly full, doughy yeast taints the brighter lemony-hop remnants. Overall, the hop flavors are alluring at times, if a bit dull, but it ends up being too sweet due to the overly modest bitterness. It’s quite zwickel-like actually, as the body is fairly pillowy, the malts soft, and the nose yeasty and somewhat rustic. Yeastiness isn’t so pleasant, however, as it bears an uncanny resemblance to bread dough/Vitamin B. Not a good value.

1 Liter Fliptop: Gold color with a small fizzy white head. Aromas of grass, flower garden and mild hair spray. Harsh alcohol taste with something a bit strange that is hard to identify. I can also pick up the dry hops in the aftertaste. Crisp drink leaving a astringent film in your mouth. Thanks Indiana_Red for sharing this with me.

1L Flip Top pours a slightly hazy pale golden with a nice sturdy chunky white head. Lacing is also quite attractive. Light sweet floral notes with honey and slight apricot or other pitted fruits. Flavor is unmistakable "stong lager" ML type kick but is candy coated with plenty of residual sugars and fruity sweetness. Finishes sweet and wet, with rather soft carbonation. I’m just gld I have a few to share this with as 1 liter is about 700ml to much for me.
