Commercial Description:
We brewed Paradise with massive amounts of German Pilsner malt and more than two pounds per barrel of U.S. Vanguard hops, an American version of the noble German Hallertau Mittelfruh. It was fermented with lager yeast from a Bavarian monastery brewery, then dry-hopped with another pound per barrel of Vanguards. To maximize flavor, we chose not to filter the beer, keeping it in the German kellerbier (cellar beer) style. The result is pale and smooth, slightly cloudy with yeast. The flavor is clean, complex and malty, balanced with plenty of hop bitternes and fine hop aroma, with a pleasant warming sensation caused by the higher alcohol content.

A hazy dark yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with a light touch of hops. The flavor is sweet matly with a strong hop presence for a pilsener - and that being American hops. But calling it an Imperial Pilsener ofcourse demands lots of American hops.

1L Swing top with red wax: Pours a misty yellow color, thick creamy white head, very retentive and good lacing. The nose is lightly hoppy with some herbal things going on with a touch of dms and light malt. The flavor shows a bit more of the fruity ethanol malt liquor type of character but it has a snappy hop bitterness in the finish that brings it together. This is strong, but it still has many of the common associations with the pilsner style. Either way, it’s decent.

1L bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium to dark yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), with notes of soap/detergent, alcohol, vegetables, chemicals. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. The booze shows through quite strongly, and some very unpleasant aromatic characters make this drift into Malt Liquor territory (shudder). The Hallertauers are nice, but overall it’s pretty crude.

1 liter swing top poured a clear gold with a large lasting white head. Aromas of sweet malt, straw, biscuit and light citrus. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of biscuits, straw and light orange with a lingering bitter finish.

For what it is and not being a huge fan of this style. This is spectacular for what it is. Creamy egg white head, with a really nice gollden sheer. LIght herbal hop nose, with a malt flavor that is fresh bake biscuits and just the right amount of lemony acidity, with some grassiness right at the end finishes clean and bitter.

Rating #1. Courtesy of Bück Dich (thanks to argo0 for hosting). Fluffy head, nice lacing and retention. Lighter mouthfeel - lemons and slightly herbal; tastes closer to a pilsner than anything grander. Significantly less dense than a Rogue Morimoto, Golden Shower, etc.
