Commercial Description:
Sweetgrass is crisp and fragrant with a generous yet smooth hop character. The sweet bouquet and spicy flavor come from the combination of five hops and Idaho grown barleys. The color? We call is “Suntan”!

I picked up this 12 oz bottle in Jackson Hole Wyoming. I shared it with fordest and toncatcher.

12 oz bottle thanks to Padrefan98. Clear golden color with a nice head. Nice fruity aromas of citrus and apple. Flavor fell off a bit though as the bitterness was a touch soapy.

Pours an opaque golden orange color with a light head made of small bubbles. The beer has a bit of a hoppy smell, but it is very light. It also has a bit of a grassy scent to it (or is that just the name?). This beer has a bit of hoppy flavor to it, but tastes more like a pale ale than an IPA to me. However, for being a fairly light flavored beer it has a fair amount of body in the mouth. Overall this is an okay beer, but not a great IPA.

Total grassy grapefruit flavor. Not much bitter hop flavor. Not terribly good. Disappointing - I couldn’t finish it. Just didn’t taste good.

On Tap at the Old Boise Brew Fest 2007 pours out a clear gold topped with a off white head. Some nice sweet hops on this IPA.

on tap-pours an off white head and yellow color. Aroma is mild light hops-citrus/lemon. Tastes is slightly bitter light hops-citrus/lemon, sweet, secondary malt. OK carbonation.

insufficient hops, aftertaste like old citrus; not entirely unpleasant, but probably not on the buy list.

I think someone forgot to put hops in the boil. Seriously. For an IPA to have this minimal amount of hops is a crime. If it weren’t for the appearance and mouthfeel, this would be 4’s across the board. An aroma of light melon, biscuts with a very minimal citrus angle. Appearance orangish/gold in color, with a one-finger white head. Flavor was melons, wet grass and with a slight sweetness. Suprisingly dry for an IPA. This was just so damn boring I nearly fell asleep while drinking it.
