Commercial Description:
Sweetgrass is crisp and fragrant with a generous yet smooth hop character. The sweet bouquet and spicy flavor come from the combination of five hops and Idaho grown barleys. The color? We call is “Suntan”!

Deep copper pour with thick, fluffy white head. Aroma of caramel, flowers, earthy hops. Very balanced flavor with flowery, oily hops paired with distinct bread and caramel malt. Well-balanced, not over powering at all. If you’re into balanced IPAs, this might be your thing. I thought it was ok.

hazy iced tea color with a big ol’ soft light khaki hued head. drippy lacing. smells... spicy. almost ’british’ spiced with notes of orange, caramel, earth and a bunch of flowers. the palate is sweet up front and dry in the back with some lingering oily hops. the flavor is similar to the aroma... a bit soapy from the florals, spice, pale malt, citrus and a mildly bittered finish. the body is medium. the mouth feel is super creamy straight outta the bottle (5/5) though it loses something in the glass. 6/4/6/4/13/3.3

From coyotehunter via trade. The pour was light copper and clear with some sediment that hung in the glass and settled to the bottom of the glass. The head was compact, off-white and produced below average lacing. The aroma was spicy hops with very little citrus or malt. The flavor followed suit with some caramel malt sweetness finally coming out to play towards the end of the glass. Thin body.

12oz. Bottle: Gushed! Aroma of hops, grapefruit, slight pine, and lychee. Poured amber/orange in color with a rocky, creamy, off-white, medium-sized head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Lightly sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Good to very good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of hops, pine, tropical fruit, light grapefruit, lychee, and some grain. Medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Hoppy, lightly bitter, dry finish.

Thanks to ditmier for hooking it up with this one! This beer gives a cloudy orange pour (I didn’t notice it was bottle conditioned, so it may be a cloud of yeasties I foolishly poured in) with a white head with decent retention. Nice lacing. Itr has a very faint nose, mostly a little spicy hops and maybe a bit of clove. The flavor is not what I would have expected from an American IPA. A few more bittering hop during the boil wouldn’t have killed the folks at Grand Trenton. The flavor is dominated by spicy hop flavors and a too-light malt backbone. It almost drinks like a wheat. I will not be pursuing this beer again, but if I’m at a bar with only BMC and this to choose from, I’ll take a Sweetgrass.

Pour is a orange with a small white head. Aroma is hard to detect and that’s a bad thing for an IPA. Some hops are there is guess. Flavor is a tad better with some bitter hops showing up but nothing like a IPA should be. This is not a good example of the style.

Poured from bottle a cloudy orange with white yeast droplets floating around and medium sized white head. Aroma is a mild hoppy citrus floral with some peachy notes. Flavor is lightly sweet with soft citrus, peach, caramel and a yeasty bitterness. Palate has a medium maltiness to it with some light sweetness and a bit of astringent bitters. Overall decent with a nice balance but nothing really standing out.

Pours orange gold with thin to medium head. Caramel and light citrus aroma. Light floral hop flavour over light to medium malt.
