Commercial Description:
Sweetgrass is crisp and fragrant with a generous yet smooth hop character. The sweet bouquet and spicy flavor come from the combination of five hops and Idaho grown barleys. The color? We call is “Suntan”!

Orangey citrus aroma. Faint whiff of malts. Quite lean, rather bitter. Moderate citrus hop flavor. This could use a bit more body and juicier palate. Finish is very bitter.

GABF 2005: poured yellowish with a full light beige head. Mild hop aroma. Flavor is hoppy but not the citrusy/pine hops I like. Lightly sweet. Medium body. Decent.

Pours a medium gold body with a little note or orange. The head is thick and white. Teh aroma is not subtle at all. It is full of grass, orange peels and some light fresh bread crust. Very nice smell. The taste is full of orange peels and some burnt toast. There is a hint of flowers here, but it is overpowered by the straight up hops. This needs a little more balance.

Bottle: Vibrant golden, moderate to large white foamy head, lattice like lacing, no visible carbonation.   Wet hop aroma, a touch of sweetness, but also a bit of sweat and fertilizer.   Mild hop bitterness on the tongue, not as sweet as I thought it would be.   Decent malt base however.   Not as crisp or flavorful as I would have liked.   Body and mouthfeel are fairly average.   Somewhat boring finish yet clean, just mild lingering hop bitterness.   No floral or citrus aspect to this IPA.   More of a stronger American Pale Ale if you ask me.   Thanks Ken!

Bottle poured a clear light copper with a yellowish head. Aromas of biscuits, carmel, and some grassy and earthy notes. Palate is medium body a bit reiny and a little dry in the finish. Flavors of biscuity malt and earthy hopswith a bitter, dry finish.

Bottle: Courtesy of Indiana_Red via trade. Aroma is very citrusy with a touch of sweet malt. Pours a transparent amber with a small white head. Lots of citrus and sweet grapefruit throughout. Grapefruit hops are present, but not as strong as most. Balance falls a tad more on the malt and sweet side, but very nicely done. Slightly APA-ish. Pleasantly suprised by this one. During the summer this could definitely be a "go to" beer.

Rusty orange. Decent mouthfeel -- lightish, but chewy and solid; pretty good carb. level. Sweet malts laden with cookie dough, powdery cocoa, and lingering dark chocolate. Aromatic hops, with notes of flower petals, sugared grapefruit, and wholesome earth. Nice bitterness level -- just enough to cleave off the loitering sweetness. Overall, I thought it was nicely balanced, well made, and tasty. A solid IPA.
