Commercial Description:
Sweetgrass is crisp and fragrant with a generous yet smooth hop character. The sweet bouquet and spicy flavor come from the combination of five hops and Idaho grown barleys. The color? We call is “Suntan”!

Poured from bottle a cloudy orange with white yeast droplets floating around and medium sized white head. Aroma is a mild hoppy citrus floral with some peachy notes. Flavor is lightly sweet with soft citrus, peach, caramel and a yeasty bitterness. Palate has a medium maltiness to it with some light sweetness and a bit of astringent bitters. Overall decent with a nice balance but nothing really standing out.

Pours orange gold with thin to medium head. Caramel and light citrus aroma. Light floral hop flavour over light to medium malt.

12oz bottle. Pours a very cloudy, particle filled, darker orange body with a finger-width, dense and creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a lasting, foamy lacing that sticks to the glass heavily. Aroma is crystal malts and caramels with some sweeter, light pine and floral citrus. Flavor is sweet and flowery. Distinct crystal maltiness, soapy earthy bitterness, citrus hops with just a touch of astringency, and a bit of toasty toffee. Finishes dry with a lingering, sweet citrus earth and caramel. Palate is medium to full with a soapy carbonation. Overall, not bad at all, just unimpressive. Balanced and plenty of taste, but another reminder of a decent homebrewed IPA.

Bottle. Body is a slightly hazy orangish amber with a finger of dense head and aromas that promise some honey type malt, a little pineapple and some other tropical fruits. In spite of those aromas, flavor is downright wacky... I guess there is a little of the honey and sweet fruit in there, but it gets demolished by a medicine/astringent weirdness that makes it hard to enjoy. I honestly didn’t think this would be that bad... despite what Matt told me.

Bottle courtesy of Wavers1. Pours a transluscent orange with a moderate head. This is interesting, as the smell and taste are both of OFF or Muskol. Good amount of bitterness to it, but the taste is lacking, and not quite the flavor Id look for in an IPA. As a beer, its really not all bad, just odd.

12 oz bottle, ended up with a bit of a gusher. There was a pretty decent head which didn’t last very long. This sample didn’t seem to be fresh, as it also poured up a bit hazy. I know this is ok for the style, but this was more than usual. There was a bit of caramel present in the aroma with a nice hop background, which I think may be better with a fresher example. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor, which had a nice complex hop bitterness going with the citrus very obvious. I would like to try this one on tap, or at the very least, fresher.

12 oz bottle. Pours a large head of short duration, with extensive lacing, over a slightly cloudy with occasional floaters, golden yellow (SRM 10-15) body.........nose of floral hops, some grapefruit, minimal pine......taste early is of malts the medium heavy hop with grapefruit as th main identity.....mouth feel is medium, carbonation light. This is a fairly typical American IPA, and is not "west coast" in hop heaviness.

Chill-hazed goldenrod color with a light-beige head of dense foam. Strong honey aroma with some distant citrus fruits, pineapple, slight crystal malt. Flavor is mainly crystal malty iced tea with a light dusting of citrus and a weakly bitter finish. Definitely needs more hop flavor and bitterness. Mouthfeel is a little watery. Decent IPA.
