Bottle Murky amber pour with no head but a fizzing sound as pouring. Light malt aroma and a caramel malty flavor with something a bit off. A bit to fizzy mouthfeel. Not too impressed.

Pours dark brown with a diminishing beige head. Light aroma of fruit, caramel. Taste is toffee, caramel and toasted malts. Might be some diacetyl here. Slight oxidation. Light on the hops, only slightly bitter. Fruity finish.

A very nice beer. The aroma is excellent with a very thick hoppy scent. Appearance is dark brown with a frothy head. Mouthfeel is a little rough on the pallet. Flavor is packed and includes lots of good spices.

(Bottle via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=3 target=blank>IrishBoy, thanks Richard!) Liked the malt profile but could use a little more oomph...Pours hazy darkish amber with about one finger of biege head. Light nose of vanilla and egg cream. Mouthfeel a bit thinnish, fairly smooth, light prickliness. Broken sheets and rings of lacing. Flavor is on the malty side - vanilla and egg cream but kind of weak. Lightly bitter finish.

Poured a clear burnt copper color with a nice mountainous head. The nose was mostly malty with ripe fruit and light caramel tones. The taste started with malt sweetness that was offset by a light, clean hop bitterness. There was also a slight astringent grainy bitterness. Still, the caramel malt sweetness dominates in a somewhat one dimensional manner. The end had an earthy hop flavor, with a trace of spruce. Finished relatively clean with a bready sweetness. The feel was medium to light. A bit too heavy on the grain and not enough, hop balance made this a quaffable but unexiting ale. Its main strength lies in its drinkability.

Pours deep reddish-brown with foamy tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, hops, and cookie dough. The flavor is nicely balanced, but the malt presence is dominant. Like the aroma, there are notes of caramel in the flavor. One of my favorite ambers.

This beer came to me in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a ruby chestnut color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma was grapefruit and fairly strong nutty malts. The flavor was a complete disappointment given the nice aroma - bitter, thin and a bit vinegary with only a moderate floral hop element to give it any distinction.
