Pours copper amber with a dark beige head. Good size, thick and fluffy. Nice retention. Aroma is of chocolate and oranges. Sweet hop bitterness. A better than average flavor of toasted caramel. Nice pronounced chocolate flavor. The residual hops are pleasant. This could be a session beer. agl108 (509), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 30, 2006 12 oz. bottle from beer of the month club. Pours a beautiful, hazy copper with thin off-white head with some slight lacing. Nose is slightly malty. Finishes smooth with floral hops. I’m sure this beer is much better after a nice hike in the Tetons than on my couch in Philadelphia. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 30, 2006 Im not a big fan of amber ales but this one was good. A nice brown body with a white head. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 27, 2006 Foggy amber color with no head forming, looks a bit like an old soda. Aroma is very malty with a slight hop background, light coffee hint also. Taste actually has a upfront hop content fading into a sweeter crystal malt taste with a bit of roasted malt showing up also. Pretty good. Aurelius (2654), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 17, 2006 Malty, candied aroma. Tea brown with a big frothy tan head, average label, OK cap. Grassy, seedy, tannic. Body is medium -- sometimes it felt a bit heavier, sometimes a bit lighter. I concur with the Right Reverand PorterPounder, this does finish out with some green peanut (or perhaps sunflower seed) notes in the middle of the tongue. The occasional roasty element. Overall, a bit on the acidic side, but a solid choice. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 17, 2006 Rich, dark copper pour with sticky, off white lacing that leaves decent lacing. Toffee-like aroma with some smoked meat notes. Chewy, full-bodied flavor with some caramel, mint, citrus and peanuts. Thickish mouthfeel for the style. Thanks to Aurelius for this one - refugee from his Ale-in-the-mail shipment - plus I add a new state. Remember trying to find this place back in 2000 while visiting the Tetons - it is just over the border in Idaho - no luck - Google maps not around yet! IrishBoy (2719), Bakersfield, California, USA
