| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 18, 2003 Dark amber; caramel, band-aid, earth, caramel on the palate. Simple. The phenols and slight oxidation indicate a sample past its prime (though still drinkable). hopdog (5617), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 18, 2005 Pours a clear copper mahogany with a thick, frothy, and heavily lacing off-white head. Aroma is pretty subtle with some sugary caramel sweetness and a faint touch of cascade hops. Body has a decent thickness to it and good carbonation to support a milld sweetness balanced with a semi-dry hoppier finish. A very smooth drinking beer with decent flavor for an amber. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 23, 2008 Dark orange/copper color with a moderate, beige head. Earthy raw grain scents dominate. Hints of citric floor cleaner. Light bread and herbal hops also in the mix. LIght caramel and some fermentation flaw that I catch slightly in the scent and also a bit here in the flavor. Perhaps a slight worty/under-attenuated thing. Perhaps it is just so grainy that I am imagining things. Then again perhaps it is that this is my second least favorite styles. As it warms some spices come out and make this more interesting. As it warms it reminds me of an english bitter, with light earthy malt and mild spicy hops. This is gaining some favor and flavor. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 28, 2003 Clear amber, brown, VERY clear. EXCELLENT lacing, a very beautiful pour. Hoppy aroma, nicely accented with som malt character. Watery hop flavors with caramel. This is a real hop machine for an amber, this even puts mac and jack's to shame in the hop department. Maybe the brewer really likes hops, but I'm not complaining! Slightyly bitter but easy drinking finish. Ernest (4515), Boulder, Colorado, USA
