Commercial Description:
Workhorse Wheat is an American-style hefeweizen (literally, yeast-wheat) ale made with Idaho barley and wheat. It is pale in color and light in body, smooth and easy drinking with just a hint of tartness from the wheat. Because is it not filtered, our workhorse wheat is slightly hazy with yeast, rich in B vitamins and other good things.

Caveat: I am not a "hefe" fan. I got this in a sampler pack. Fresh grainy aroma and look. Aroma also of yeast and faintly of mountain streams. Flavor and palate are watery. A sour off note takes from the hop. It has much promise in the pour, but the drinking is a not rich. Maybe it makes up for that by containing "B vitamins and other good things."

Very solid wheat beer, somewhat grainy and citrusy, but well-balanced. Good solid everyday wheat.

Dark gold in color, cloud with white heady. smells like oranges with mangoes and a hint of clove. The taste includes the same with other citruses noted: good for an American Wheat.

Gold pour with nice white head. Big notes of fresh milled flour and grain on the nose. Flavor is thick with wheat and light hints of yeast and honey. Just enough citrus to know its there. Nice clean finish.

12 oz bottle thanks to padrefan for bringing home from vacation. Not usually a fan of American wheats, but this wasn’t horrible. Not much on the aromas. Hazy orange with smallish head. Decent citrus and wheat flavors with just a touch of offensive twang.

On Tap at the Old Boise Brew Fest 2007 Pours out a cloudy yellow topped with a small white head. A little wheat and grain on this one.
