Commercial Description:
Workhorse Wheat is an American-style hefeweizen (literally, yeast-wheat) ale made with Idaho barley and wheat. It is pale in color and light in body, smooth and easy drinking with just a hint of tartness from the wheat. Because is it not filtered, our workhorse wheat is slightly hazy with yeast, rich in B vitamins and other good things.

Bottled. Pours a medium golden color, with a hint of orange. Mildly citric/yeasty aroma. Slightly grainy. Flavor is sweet and grainy. Drinkable, but boring. A little watery.

12 oz bottle, via Indiana_Red. Pours a slightly hazy orangish colored body under a small fizzy white head that faded quickly. Not much yeast in there for an "unfiltered" Wheat. Light fruity aroma of wheat and tangerines. Minimal flavor peeking thru alot of wateryness. A light hay-like wheat base with minimal to no yeast character despite it’s unfiltered claim. Mouthfeel is light and watery, especially on the finish. Moderate lively carbonation is refreshing at least. Not a real good attempt here, but it may appeal to those new to craft beer.

I was pleasently suprized with this wheat ale. Not much color or aroma to speak of, but a very nice wheat flavor. Leaves a nice balance on the palet.

Unfiltered wheat? Doesn’t look like it. Pours a very very slight cloudy orange/red with a well formed white head which quickly deminishes. The nose is spicy lemon grass and wheat which is basically what it tastes like. Body is light to medium. Nothin’ to right home about!

Pours with a thin filmy head, body is clear tan with tons of carbonation. Light malty aroma, some grains. Taste is cheap malt, bitter grains. No citrus. Slight hop bitters. Weak.

Pours a hazy golden yellow color. Aromas of bread, some yeast, and a touch of citrus. Flavor has nice citrus taste, with yeasty notes. Nice clean finish.

Nice looking unfiltered wheat - cloudy brownish gold. Faint "wheaty" flavor combined with a whiff of blackberry. Citrusy flavor, and a note of cherry, too. And also a hint of rye, maybe. Thanks to Indana_Red for the trade!

10.01.05 GABF Hazed, light amber. Hoppy and lemon nose is surprising. Hoppy flavor for a wheat. Lots of citrus, very refreshing. Palate cleanser. Pretty nice stuff that I went back to multiple times.
