smell is of roasted caramel, malt, some spice, barley, some sweet fruits.
taste is caramel, toasted walnuts, an organic funk, spice, hops, and some grain.
overall would have scored better if it was not for the organic funk that stays with you after you are done drinking.

Dec 8, 2008 1L swing-top bottle. Pours hazy amber with an average, frothy, light brown head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt -bread, cookie, cereal, grain-, average hops -flowers, grass-, average yeast -sweat, horse blanket- with notes of plum, apple, and pear. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

Oct 24, 2008 Pours out red with thick creamy head. Taste is sweet and spicey. Nice malt and hop balance. Subtle bitterness. Smooth finish. Not the typical aggressive west coast double red. Very tasty brew.

Oct 8, 2008 1litre bottle-Pours an orangish amber with some floaties and has an off white head. Aroma of malt and hops. Taste of malt, hops, sweetness, sugars, and caramel. This full bodied brew is very well balanced and quite drinkable. Good tasting beer.

Sep 24, 2008 Bronze red pour with a lightness to it. Detectable citrius with dough yeast wiffs. Caramel malt flavor with some citrusy hop balance. Pretty good beer.

Sep 17, 2008 1 litre waxed swing top bottle which took fifteen minutes to open. Clear amber with a frothy light tan head, nice lacing. A mild aroma is spicy herbal hop. Medium body with a creamy smooth mouthfeel. Good flavor is grainy malt grist with light caramel. Has a subtle herbal hop sweetness to finish. Pretty nice beer here, though the bottle is a pain in the ass to open.

Aug 25, 2008 Aroma is a roasted malt scent with some hop tones. Color is a bright amber with a slight haze, very good carbonation and a thick tight head. Taste is malty and crisp. Starting with a medium body it goes down smooth yet with a crisp feel. Finish comes in malty and slightly sweet then a little hop flavor with a hint of bitterness. After taste is clean with the bitterness hanging around a bit. This is a really good brew its easy drinking and well balanced.

Jul 26, 2008 Soon to be available in 1.0 L bottles. Red bronze color with ample foam that fades into a collar around the glass. Nose is very light in character overall, with glimmers of citrus types hops along with a light hint of dough. Flavor opens up pretty well. Malt flavors of caramel and cookie, with well balanced bitterness and hop flavors of lemon and herb. It’s a pretty good beer overall.
