May 5, 2007 Pours a transparent copper orange with a thin, wispy white head. Aroma of fairly fresh grapefruity hops and lightly sweet caramel malt. Body starts with some sugary sweet caramel candy malt with a drier, mildly earthy and citrusy hop balance. A decent IIPA.

May 5, 2007 Pours a copper color with a white head. Aroma is caramel, and bitter citrus hops. Flavor is malty, caramel, with a earthy bitter hop finish.

Apr 20, 2007 Bottle from the Michael Jackson rare Beer Club. 1 Liter swing top with a forest green colored wax seal. Opening the bottle caused it to foam to the lip of the bottle. I began to smell piney hops and pine sap like aromas. Pours amber with a tan frothy off-white to near tan head. Nose is piney hops, citrus fruits, grapefruit juice, sweet malts, and caramel. Taste is sweet but hop-laden. Lots of pine oils, citrus peel, and floral hops. Sweet malts and caramel and even a bit of toffee seem to fill this out. There’s some spiciness in spots, too. Body is creamy and oily with a light-medium overall feel and moderate carbonation. Finishes with more hops - pine, citrus and flowers - and caramel and toffee. Very nice!

Apr 7, 2007 1L wax dipped swingtop, from MJRBC. The wax is just friggin’ stupid here. Seriously. Anyway, clear amber pour with an off white head. Huge floral and pine nose, some light citrus notes. Perfumey floral flavors balanced with a sweet maltiness. Excellent lace. A good IIPA, but a bit heavy on the perfumey hoppiness.

Apr 2, 2007 Must be getting jaded when you say, "hey, another decent Imperial IPA". I like the style even thought it seems a little bit limited in what it has to offer. Fruity, spicy, perhaps a bit more spicy and with a bit more malt characters than some others. Refreshing and mellow enough to go with a meal.

Mar 26, 2007 Pours copper with a lingering white head ans superb lacing. Smells of chewy caramel, pine resin, lots of citrus and pepper. Tastes of sweet malt, doughy yeast, oranges and caramel. Not as over the top on bitterness and a little more malty than a typical IIPA but very drinkable and enjoyable.

Mar 21, 2007 A long, sweet finish combined with strong aroma of resinous hops make for an enjoyable beer from start to finish. Large head that dimished atop a cloudy copper body. Heavy aroma of pine, resein, grapefruit and flowers with perfume notes. Moderately sweet backbone behind moderate to heavy bitterness. Medium body. Average carbonation. Very good.

Mar 17, 2007 Pour is light amber with a smallish tan head...smell is citric with hints of pine and soap...not abundantly hoppy at all...flavor was a little metallic at first, but some hops poked out in the end...not that IBUs make a bit of difference at all, but I would like to know the IBUs on this one, since I agree with the number guy that nothing seemed Double in the flavor of this beer...a mediocre IIPA, but a pretty solid well made IPA it is...
