Dark brown pour, mahogany tones when held up to the light. Thick foamy 2" light brown head. Tight sudsy bubbles. Very light malty aroma. Based upon the time I had this at the brewpub, I was expecting a lot more aroma. Silky smooth carmelly taste of malt, then wow, the hops are really prominent. Hints of sweet hazulnut, also a bit more bitter nut flavor like walnuts. A very full, almost thick mouthfeel that is sweet on the palate, but bitter hops on the edges. Strong hoppy aftertaste. The glass retains a ton of lace even several minutes after the last drop is drained.
