Commercial Description:
A thick creamy head sits atop the opaque blackness of this traditional dry Irish Stout. Roasted chocolate and coffee notes make this beer a great treat.

Sampled at the Davenport, IA location. Pours a dark brown, with a small tan head. Aromas of faint chocolate with some roasted malts. Flavor isn’t as big as I like, a little chocolate/coffee and some mild hops.

Wichita location: Was OK - very typical of a standard brewpub nitro stout. Creamy to the point of watery. What did stand out was a smooth hint of smoke near the finish. So yea, it had a little more character than some nitro stouts. Brown black with a firm creamy nitro head.

sampled at the MN location. Dark thick well laced brown cream head. Rich sweet malt aroma lots of chocolate. Light creamy palate. Dry flavor slightly chalky chocolate with a touch of pine hop.. a decent stout.

Looks and tastes like milk chocolate...some strange spritziness in the mouthfeel that seemed out of place...some coffee notes...some surprisingly bitter hopping...but very thin-bodied, especially for a stout!

At the Davenport IA restaurant. This one had the black color and dissipating head. A few faint roast notes, with a touch of licorice, coffee, and chocolate. Very thin body though. Not impressed.

At the Lincoln NE restaurant ... This is their best-looking beer, if that says anything. It’s black with a standing creamy head. But although it starts a bit creamy, it’s definitely just watery like the rest ... little flavor, just a bit of nutty bitterness. Bland. At least the food was good.

Sampled at the Cedar Rapids branch. Thick slightly tan head with a black body. The nose os milk chocolate with coffee and amaretto. The taste is slightly bitter with milk chocolate and dried apples. Too much hops for the style. Unbalanced with a thin body.

on tap. a great looking stout! dark brown with a foamy, creamy head. but this just doesn’t have a lot of flavor. a decent dry finish but nothing here to get excited about. average at best.
