draft - Pours amber with a light, malt rich aroma and a one finger head with some lace. It has a sweet caramel malt flavor and just a hint of alcohol in the finish. It’s easy drinking and acceptable, but as others have said there’s nothing memorable here.

This draft brew from a restaurant poured a head of finely sized white colored bubbles that were fully diminished and left behind a transparent uncarbonated brown colored body and a poor lacing. The weak aroma was malty and semi-sweet. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of malt nutty and brown malt. Not one that I would likely buy again. I found this brew to be very unbock like.

On draught during the Winterfest 2008 in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. Pours a medium brownish amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine ring. Aroma of very light caramel malt, some powdered sugar, and roasted nuts. Taste is medium bodied, a lot of carbonation with flavors of light caramel malt, some light candi sugar, and grassy hops. Finish is watery, some light multi-grain malt and a dry hop aftertaste. I’m not sure what to make of this but it is still drinkable.

Visited Cedar Rapids right after a snow storm and Granite City was one of the only restuarants that was open. it was beer. Not much else to say.

Ok…I didn’t hate this one. Darkish undertones with a hint of roast and malt….but not enough to be memorable…frankly I just had it and I already am forgetting the flavor. Unfortunately its very run-of-the-mill…..a very common feel for all GC brews thus far.

The second underwhelming beer from Granite City. Pour mahogany with a light tan head. The aroma has faint toasted malt. Medium smooth body with light carbonation. The flavor has light nutty malt and is very watery ~ common trait for all of their beers. Fair.

ON TAP: nice aroma and color with light tan head looks pleasantly inviting. Not much for flavor, bubbly mouthfeel but very short finish. Probably a good beer after mowing the lawn.
