On tap in Omaha August 2007. While it is called the Duke, it was the third in line to be the King for me. A light amber color with little white head, crisp clear citrus nose with light hops. Again, another Granite City that is too watery. A fresh bitter citrus flavor with some sweet caramel at the end. Not bad but probably would not try it again.

I might have scored this higher had it been listed as an APA, or perhaps even an EPA. It’s got a clear amber body and has a fairly well sustained modest head. Nice lacing. Its flavor images the nose - a light sweet caramel with a blend of citric and floral bitterness displaying the blend of Cascade and Fuggle hops. Mildly bitter finish. Okay.

A fairly decent pale ale maybe below average less hoppy flavor and bitterness than I would like. At Cherry Valley

Draught sample at the St Louis Park MN location, RBSG Minneapolis weekend, June 23 2007. Light, clear amber with just a bit of foam and faint lacing....fresh, clean, simple citrusy aroma, just a touch buttery but all right....bitter, light brown-sugary up front, but the light malts don’t support the hops and at the end it’s just dry, bitter, and papery.

Not terrible, some slight fruitiness, tart berries, a hint of resin, lots of hops but little to no malt. Low aroma.

Sweet citrus aroma with a much more bitter taste even though it does have a sweet smooth finish. Pours dark amber with a white head.

Light amber color with little head. Faint floral nose with a more pronounced floral hop flavor.
