Full of flavor. Very Guiness like but better I think. Very smooth going down. One of the best Stout’s I’ve ever had.

Smells high in alcohol. Smells nice; forboding. Bourbon notes. Almost fully opaque; red on the edges. Nice creamy, Guiness-like head. Excellent lace. Mouthfeel of Guiness but with much more flavor. Heavy on the alcohol.

Thick, dark fudge brown color with a tall light brown thick head that sat for a good while becoming creamy smooth and lacing in thick ink blot patches. Aroma is mostly chocolate with some touches of dark sweet cherries, molasses, and maple syrup. Taste is quite nice, thick, rich, lush chocolate tones, long lasting richness sweeps over the plate with a great creamyness of dark and deep chocolate. Nice touches of molasses, a bit of earthy dark espresso lightly dots the mix with an even lighter nudge of dark cherry. Brandyish-like warmth for its alcohol notes which too are dark and deep. Super creamy and pretty thick with a nice full feel, warming with some touches of chocolatey/espesso bittering dryness coming through nearer the finish. The warmth from alcohol held it back just a bit for really being able to enjoy it. The full sample glass took me a while to get through, and again the fellas at Granite City were more then happy to fill my glass. They were so smiley. Thanks guys! Sampled at Winterfest in St. Paul 2004
