Had the sampler first and got a growler to go. pours with a thick foamy head and has a slightly sticky lacing. The color is a glowing dark red. Aroma is perfectly malty authentic Irish Ale. Has a light wet soil aspect with some musk. there is some light cocoa and faint roast. Flavor is a bit weaker, a little vegetal, but same musky, earthy malts and a faint muted fruit back there. Easy drinking and is a fun beer. patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA

The flavor too is all about the caramel malt. There’s a little bit of hops in there and it’s certainly easy to quaff. Not bad. kwoeltje (1326), Manchester, Missouri, USA

Nose was malt and caramel and ditto for the flavor.Tingly mouthfeel and medium in body.Quaffable, very easy to drink, nothing truly special stoodout about this beer, would be okay for a session beer. ebrowner88 (113), Rice, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 16, 2008 Poured off tap. Nice head, medium carbonation. Nice red ale. Malty nose and taste. Nice flavor. Much fuller then a Killians or Lienies Red. Slightly bitter finish. (as there should be) Nothing too special but...I may have to try a few more of these. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 16, 2008 This draft brew from a restaurant poured a head of foamy tan colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a transparent dark orange brown colored body and a poor lacing. The mild aroma was Irish Red malty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt hops and mild brown malt. An OK brew just nothing special.
