(Draught) super pale yellow, no head, aroma of corn, tastes crisp apple corny, stale linger, no sweetness at all.

Usually every brewpub has a light beer for people who drink Miller Lite or Bud Light, etc. This is their beer like that, but for some reason even though it has more flavor than a macro light beer, it actually seemed a little off to me. It had notes of corn and overall was not a good beer.

Pours pale yellow-gold with a 1-2 finger fizzy white head that has decent retention. Aroma is grainy, a little grass, herbal notes, and lager yeast. Flavor is very minerally, a little grass, corn, straw and a little more bitterness to the finish that your average pale lager. Palate is light bodied (a little heavier than expected though) with a somewhat oily feel and a light carbonation. Decent, even pretty good for a pale lager, but nothing special.

11/28/2008: There really isn’t much at all to say about Granite City Northern Light Lager. It is a really mild-mannered Pale Lager that reminds me quite a bit of Hudy Delight (http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/hudy-delight/139 only much lighter!

Draught (pint) at Granite City Food & Brewery in Maumee, Ohio. Rating #60 for this beer.

Tap @ Kansas City location: Clear pale gold with not much head. Pleasant aroma, not too skunky or grainy. A little grapey taste, but not bad for a light beer. It has a surprisingly full body.

clear yellow, no head. a touch of airy corn (maybe syrup) in the nose. flavor is sweet corn, but not cloying. oily mouth feel, sweet finish. i rather enjoyed this, although it’s major difficulty is it’s extreme mildness.

Light, nearly clear yellow. No perceivable hops, and no perceivable adjuncts either. Not creamy, but very light palate. Not offensive beyond being a flavorless and characterless beer. It is drinkable at least, the sort of thing you might buy for $10/ 24 cans, if it were sold in cans.
