It has a mild aroma of caramel malt. The flavor is the expect malty sweetness with minimal hops presence. It’s medium bodied and goes down smoothly. There’s nothing special here, but it’s really not a bad beer. Good session brew. Cornfield (4975), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 20, 2008 This had a clear orange body, but the skinny head vanished almost immediately. You can’t get an unchilled glass in the joint, so the aroma was hard to pick up. A bit of caramel, some toast. The flavor had an old malt sweetness, some toffee, cardboard. No hop balance. There are too many good Märzens to be drinking this one again.

Very light amber-dark gold with a medium poofy large bubbled white head. Slight straw-like aroma, but more of a biscuit malt. Light caramel toffee flavor, but a fairly pedestrian attempt at a mårzen. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Pours a clear copper, topped by an inch of nearly white foam. Good head retention and lacing throughout the big mug-club glass (this style of beer deserves a big mug). Mild caramel malty aroma.
Nice and malty Oktoberfest beer, with caramel and toasted malt. The first couple sips provided a very mild peat-smoke character that, while not true to style, was still delicious. A touch of hops for balance in the finish.
Medium bodied, very clean and smooth.
