You can’t get an unchilled glass in the joint, so the aroma was hard to pick up. A bit of caramel, some toast. The flavor had an old malt sweetness, some toffee, cardboard. No hop balance. There are too many good Märzens to be drinking this one again.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 3, 2009 This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent very softly carbonated copper brown colored body. The very mild aroma was malty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start with a mild vienna malt note and mediumly tingly at the finish with a lingering aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of mild hops semi sweet caramel malts and vienna malt. The best beer so far from GC that I have had. Rciesla (3750), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Malty and sweet with a leafy metallic lemon zest. Dried fruit and caramel with a light apple sensation. Eh. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 18, 2009 Draft at GCF&B Fort Wayne, IN. Small tan head with good retention, transparent body with a reddish-orange hue, no visible carbonation, and no lacing. The aroma was that of munich, vienna and crystal malts and semi-sweet. The flavor mimicked the aroma with some hops. The mouthfeel was clean and smooth and this is a medium bodied beer. An easy to drink beer and while not the best of this style that I have had, it would be a decent session beer and one that I would drink again. SledgeJr (2966), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 12, 2007 On tap at the Omaha "Brew" pub. Very light amber-dark gold with a medium poofy large bubbled white head. Slight straw-like aroma, but more of a biscuit malt. Light caramel toffee flavor, but a fairly pedestrian attempt at a mårzen. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Sep 19, 2009 Tap. Clear amber color. Light aroma has a welcoming aroma of malts. Smells like a vienna. A nice toast flavor, mostly malt flavors. Good. A bit of spice. Mild. Easy to swallow. patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 24, 2008 draft at Ft Wayne brewpub - Pours orange-amber with a one finger head. It has a mild aroma of caramel malt. The flavor is the expect malty sweetness with minimal hops presence. It’s medium bodied and goes down smoothly. There’s nothing special here, but it’s really not a bad beer. Good session brew.
