BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Jul 16, 2008 This is very malty and sweet, found this to be terribly unbalanced. Large caramel maltiness, with some sweet fruitiness and a tad overcarbonated. tomthompson89 (1119), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 21, 2008 light amber color, small white head , nose is caremel malts some fruit maybe. Flavor is again caremel malts no real hops and an odd aftertaste that i think is the yeast. Beershine (1214), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 20, 2007 I really can’t drink this beer anymore. I find it sweet in a cloying way. As usual with the beers from Granville Island, the carbonation is too fizzy. It really needs to be boosted, by decreasing the syrupy qualities in the beer and firmly upping the hop content. The GI brewery also needs to work on creating a softer, gentler palate. A below-average example for this style. mnurda (352), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Aug 20, 2007 Canned Sample from the Granville Island Location. Tasted great while cruising in the Vancouver Harbour, but would probably not be so good in a normal setting. yarry (351), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Jul 16, 2007 341ml bottle, 5% a/v. Bought at the brewery.
Pours a rich brown colour, little carbonation and a nice tan head. The nose is of rich malts, toffee and caramel with a hint of coffee. The taste is largely the same with a slight spice note, and an unusual aftertaste which is somewhat sweet and hard to explain.
