Deep amber, copper. Earhty, hint of peat, which I always like in a Scotch Strong. Caramel and toffee, bit of chocolate.

A limited release from GI, for winter (just in time for Burns’ Day). Pours well with a nice head, good clarity, and delicious taste. One of the better Scottish Ales, sadly only available for a few months per year. I’d drink this anytime.

Dark brown, copper highlights. Toffee and chocolate aroma, with woody and smokey elements. Nice malty palate, but with a good amount of earthy and woody hops, subtley smokey. Very good.

Tampa Tuesday tasting night – blind tasting, courtesy of Degarth. My first BC beer rating. It sure took a long time to get one.

Pours kind of brown-ish with tan head. The aroma is light consisting of mild earthiness and not much else. Try as I might I get very little in the aroma. The taste is much bolder than the nose with solid earthiness, faint peat and a nice backbone of caramel goodness. Nice flavor.

Bottle Tampa Scotch Ale Blind Tasting. Pours a deep amber with a large tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is sweet malt and slightly earthy. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Very good.

Dark colour wth dark lace. Fine mouhfeel, medium bodied. A fine Scotch ale.Drinkable, with an assist to being well malted.

I was impressed with this seasonal brew from Granville Island. Dark, reddish-brown and pours with a creamy head. Has a soft, mellow nose that I would have liked to be stronger. The taste and mouthfeel are extraordinary coming from this brewery. Low and soft carbonation creates a pleasant palate. Smooth and solid body. Nourishing taste. Hops in the finish make this a balanced example of a Scottish Ale, which can be on the sweet side.
