JorisPPattyn (4275), Antwerpen, Belgium Feb 7, 2008 Pretty aged beer... Full of UFO’s in chestnut-brown beer, with small yellow-cream head. Portwine, walnuts on Marssala, studentenhaver , blue cheese rind, dried apricots. Dry first impression, with immediate sweetness behind; full of esters, fruity; higher alcohols & ethanol. UFO’s are really tactily traceable. Very heavy bodied, certainly for such an old beer, but not syrupy. Superbly aged - undeniably better than when young - when it was fairly average;

Very dark red, large head. Odd imx of aromas - being both milky and with something dark and serious too. Sharp on the tongue, but with a big body of rich roasted malts to back that up, for a really full body. Covers the 9%, 9%? 9%!, woh, very well. Jukkabro (2350), Tampere, Finland Dec 24, 2006 Dark brown, slight red hints also in color. Medium sized light brown head. Strong berries in nose with some sour-cherry tones, mild licoricre also there. Medium bodied. Flavor has dominating licorice with crispy palate, yeast and sweetness also there. Slight metal in sour and licorice aftertaste, some yeast also there. oh6gdx (5857), Vaasa, Finland Jul 9, 2006 Bottled. Dark amberish brown colour, mediumsized, longlasting head. Beriies and fruits in aroma along with weak hints of alcohol. Flavour is caramellish and sugarym but still quite bitterish with fruits. Mouthdrying. sayravai (3045), Helsinki, Finland Jul 8, 2006 (Bottled) Very hazy dark amber color with a medium, foamy and lasting head. Sweetish aroma of berries (cherry, lingonberry) and some apple juice. Fruity-lemony flavor with cherry stones. Medium-bodied palate with balanced carbonation. A decently balanced, very fruity-berryish dubbel.
