Commercial Description:
Gray's Bower City Pale Ale has an obvious caramel flavor from richly roasted barley malts with a floral hop aroma and flavor. Bower City Pale Ale is noted for its abundance of domestic cascade hops.

I have to coax even the faintest hop aroma out of this golden ale. Catty bitterness, with some below average cascade flavor (like cascade, only not as flavorful) On top of that a confusing finish.

Had this bottled in Stevens Point Wisconsin. Typical pale ale color, deep orange, slightly sweeter and less bitter than most PAs. Mild.

Aroma is your basic lager with perhaps some additional sweetness and malt notes. Although head size is average, retention is decent, lace is excellent and visible carbonation is substantial, reminiscent of champagne. Gold in color with a white head. Hops are not all that powerful in this brew, which is a bit of a departure from the typical APA. Nevertheless, it still manages to be flavorful. It has a faint sweetness and a moderate alcohol bite. In the flavor spectrum, falls somewhere between a bland American Standard and a complex APA. Disappointing as an APA but could win medals as an American Standard. Perhaps the folks at Gray's should reclassify this brew.

Orangish color, small white head with a slight lacing left behind.Malty sweet aroma with a mild grapefruit hint and decent hop presence. The taste was fairly decent malty sweet at first but later changes to a light grapefruit hop taste. The after taste was citrusy with a mild hopping bitterness, with the feel being mild. Not a bad brew well worth trying but definately could use a stronger hop presence.

Actually pleasantly suprised with this one. Not a lot of flavor going on here but just enough to satisfy the palate. Very light bodied, amber-opache color.

Coppery color, light head, orange smell with a hoppy fruity taste. Typical Pale ale--and I like that.

Orange color with small white head and nice, light floral nose. Nice malt flavors with citrus/apple notes. I thought there was plenty of bitterness to finish off this beer. Maybe a little thin in body, but a good session beer.
