More wheat bread in the flavor along with toffee, and sweet orange rind. Dry, bitter finish featuring grassy, grapefruity hops. A decent assertively-hopped IPA, perhaps a bit too dry for my tastes. Malty, toffee aromas under floral British-style hops. Full malty flavors with some tea-like bitterness and a little hop flavor to dry the finish. Not bad. tomxcs (315), Golden, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2004 Dark amber color with off-white head. Floral, citrus, and pine (mostly) aromas all in this one, but not extremely strong. Somewhat malty, lots of pine, with a nice dose of hop bitterness. Enjoyable. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 20, 2002 Updated: Nov 4, 2004Hazy copper color with a large frothy off white head that leaves some lacing in my glass, citrus and piney hop aroma. Balanced fruity and caramel flavors with a decent hop bite, medium body with a creamy and soft mouthfeel, finishes with a mild bitterness, more of an English style IPA. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 19, 2002 Bright amber color with a light cream head. Orange peel and floral aromas. Light malt sweetness with a sharp bitter hops finish. A little lighter in body than I prefer for this style. BrewCityBomber99 (12), Brookfield,, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 7, 2002 Clear light amber. Thin tiny bubbled white head. Very light carbonation. Aroma of pine sap and citric rind hops and a honeyed sweetness. Pleasant. Medium body. Tea bag bitterness initially. Puckering (not quite West Coast) citric rind and pine resin hop flavor. Strong bittering hop flavor, not aroma or overall. Lingering light sweet malt balance. Finishes a little more balanced but this remains bitterly hoppy, like a ’Bigfoot Lite’, with enough sweetness and body to keep it rounded out. Decent IPA.
