Commercial Description:
Rich in color with a strong body and a very creamy texture, the Oatmeal Stout is a true beer lover's brew. The slight hop aroma distinguishes this stout from any other. The Oatmeal Stout is robust, full of body and flavor, and topped off with a creamy light brown head.

Pours a very dark brownish-black with light tan head. Strong aromas of chocolate, malt and coffee. Flavor follows aroma, but is more subdued. Thinner body for a stout - which brought it down a little, but quite good overall.

Bottle. Poured a very deep mahogany, almost black with a quickly-receding beige head. Big, sweet aroma of chocolate, lactic notes, and coffee. Flavor picked up pretty much the same stuff, but with a lower intensity... Rather light on the palate, with a bitter roasted coffee finish. Smooth and easy drinkin’, but wish it had a little more body.

12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. Tastes of coffee, lactic, and roasted malts. The tastes were on the watery in weak side as was the body. Did not live up to the aroma, which I thought was decent.

In the bottle. Pours black with a very fizzy light tan head which dissolves instantaneously. Coffee roasted aroma. Light body. Downright watery. Burning fizziness on the tongue. This "stout"leaves much to be desired. Not a true entry into the style.

On tap at WI State Fair (Love that microbrew tent :-). Deep black with a thin but dense, light brown head. Aroma is dark roasted malt and coffee. Flavor is dark, almost burnt, malt, very black coffee and bitter chocolate. Despite the heavy bitter tastes this is actually a pretty smooth drink. I didn’t pick up as much sweetness as I was expecting from an oatmeal stout and it was a bit thin too. Still a good stout though and a very satisfying drink.

Nice color and texture. Medium to full bodied and a really good oatmeal-coffee mix.

Thanks to Chuck for this. Pours to a black body with a thin, white, instantly disapating head. Looks more like ink than beer without the head. The aroma is tons of brown sugared chocolate banana oatmeal brownies. So-so, perhaps a touch of burnt aroma too. This beer tastes like muddy chocolate, wet cardboard, cheap brownies. Not too appetizing. Perhaps I’m just not in the mood for this one or the quality has gotten bad? Palate is very light and watery for a stout. There’s also a lingering burntness.
