Commercial Description:
Rich in color with a strong body and a very creamy texture, the Oatmeal Stout is a true beer lover's brew. The slight hop aroma distinguishes this stout from any other. The Oatmeal Stout is robust, full of body and flavor, and topped off with a creamy light brown head.

Bottle pours a semi rich looking black with a small tan head and no lace. The aroma is slightly lactic and of a chocolate malt. The flavor is roasted, chocolate, malty, and quite good. The body is a bit thin, but suits well. Overall, not bad and very drinkable.

Opaque with a great aroma of chocolate chip cookie dough! Flavor is a little simplistic... sweetl malt and chocolate with a bit of oat. It got a little cloying near the end, but this is some fairly good stuff.

Dark as night with mocha head. Sour roasted malt nose with chocolate and oatmeal. heavey mouthfeel with drying finish. Light roasted flavors with chocolate being predominant. Not bad though a bit thin.

Appearance: dark black color, with reddish tinges, under a thick, toasted tan head. Aroma: magnificent! Richly roasted, deep and dark, with hints of anise and chocolate, whiskey, even, I very much enjoyed this smell and kept my snoot in it for as long as I could bear. Marvelous presence on the palate, nicely carbonated, good hops, but the flavor leaves too quickly, and the body thins out too fast. The promise found in the aroma isn’t quite delivered in full in the flavor. Medium to full body, with less of a finish than I’d like. Too mellow, with too bare a flavor. I found myself loving it at the start, and less pleased while I was drinking it. If not for that, this would be an oatmeal stout I’d be most happy to have around, day-in, day-out!

Bottle pour at festival: Dark brown/black with soft thin head. Chocolatey nose. Medium to thin body, chalky cocoa flavor, hints of coffee and acidity. Long cocoa bitter aftertaste. Yum.

bottle-pours pitch black-nice and oily looking for an oatmeal sout. very small tan head. aroma is mostly coffee with a touch of smoke and chocolate. flavros are mostly coffee, roasted notes, with a touch of dark fruits. Good oily robust palate with low carbonation. long coffee finish. pretty good stout that i will have to try again.

This is a good Sweet Stout. Roasty, sweet, and coffee flavors. Finishes rich, creamy, and smooth finish.

Thanks to Lumpy for this gem (I guess I got the good bottle). Any-who, Nice dark color with dark tan head. Taste is exactly as advertised, Oatmeal Stout, breakfast of Champions. Aroma is a bit dish rag but everything else is awesome.
