May 17, 2004 Clear brown color with a touch of ruby. Taller tan head with a few speckles of lace. Nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger dominate the aroma. Slight hint of malt sweetness. Really does smell like the holidays. Light malt sweetness which is stolen by the gingerbread men. Dry light spice finish. I would like a touch more malt by the spices are not overly powerful. You are left wanting more at the end.

Jul 30, 2004 12 oz bottle. Dark purple-maple, creamy medium off-white head. Huge spicy nose: raw ginger, lemonpeel, cardamom, molasses, cinnamon and white pepper. Yeah, preffernuss is right slikwily. Creamy, thick body and a reasonably spicy front, fairly dry, with delicious cookie/pie assertiveness to finish; also some licorice and a hint of rum. I have a weakness for winter-spice beers, and this is one of the better ones; I’m amazed more people haven’t rated it yet.

Jun 6, 2005 Dark brown body with some ruby light showing through. The huge head is tan colored. The aroma is ginger bread with some cherries. The taste is dark bread and coffee with the ginger in the aftertaste. I get a hint of anise. A fairly heavy beer that warms you up. The mouthfeel is slightly sticky. A decent winter brew.

May 30, 2006 Rich reddish brown with a small head. Smells like a dentists office and cinnamon. Taste is spicy with pepper and cinnamon, grape and cinnamon and sour orange peel and cinnamon. Its zippy and interesting but way too much cinnamon. Did I mention this tastes like cinnamon?

Jul 17, 2005 Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Very spicey aroma with lots of ginger and light cinnamon. Pours a dark reddish-brown with no transparency and a small tan head that quickly becomes a ring. Spciey flavor with ginger and light cinnamon with a touch of sweetness in the finish.

Aroma: pumpkin pie, spices galore, cinnamon, clove, and so much more, very warm, very flavorful, very nice.
Taste: big blast of hops starts us off, and greets the tongue most amiably, though spices are in full effect. Lush texture, toasty, tasty, full malt, never-ending spice character. Big texture, with a brief, and welcome, flourish of fruit, cherries, grapes, a hint of brandy, giving it more of a barleywine-ish feel.
Long finish, full-flavored, earthy, lusty, and ever-more tasty!

Jun 26, 2004 Good copper/brown color,small tan head that faded quickly leaving little behind.The aroma was Very spicy with a nice malt side,smells alot like pure gingerbread.Malty sweet flavor with a strong spice,kind of like a cookie my mom makes over the holidays Pfeffernuis not sure thats the correct spelling.The hops come through nicely towards the end with a decent spicy hop after taste that fades quickly.Very nice brew and like Jpdipso says it leaves you wanting more.Thanks to him for sending this fine winter brew my way.
