757HopHead (12), Reno, Nevada, USA Apr 24, 2007 Pint off of tap at the brewery. I will have to agree with beerguy101 pretty much to a T. This is my favorite beer I have had since I moved west from Virginia. Definitely going to get my growler filled constantly until they run out of this batch! beerguy101 (3488), Newark, California, USA Feb 24, 2007 Tasted on tap at the 7th Annual Bistro Double IPA fest. This Imperial IPA pours a cloudy medium orange gold color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is malty and caramel, more sweet than hoppy. A medium bodied 2x IPA. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are citrusy and piney. Nice balance. Big malt backbone. Lots of hop flavors, but not a lot of hop bitterness. It right in that class between an Imperial IPA and a Barleywine. Touch of alcohol bite in the finish. Solid beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth, Aftertaste is slightly bitter. IrishBoy (2163), Bakersfield, California, USA Feb 17, 2007 Draft at The Bistros DIPA Fest; Nose of citrus hops. Semi hazy rust colored with virtually no head; flavor of citrsy hop bitterness and a bit of caramel.
