Commercial Description:
Great Crescent Blonde Ale is clear, slightly malty with medium hop aroma and relatively low bitterness and has a somewhat sweet, dry finish. This beer was created as an easy-drinking, approachable, malt-oriented craft beer and the style is being produced by many American microbreweries. This style is designed as the entry-level craft beer. However, Blonde Ale is well appreciated by people who are already familiar with and enjoy many other styles of craft beer.

Draft sample at brewpub. Poured a hazy amber color with a moderate fizzy off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Medium malty and hop aroma. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Smooth drinkable brew.

Aroma was sweet and moderately malty. Light brown appearance, similar to other American light ales, but a bit more tinted. Flavor was malty as well. Oily, yet creamy head. Not too bad for a lighter ale.

11/15/2008: Great Crescent Blonde Ale has a fruity and citrusy aroma. It is dark gold in color with a thin, off-white head that provides some lacing. It has a fresh flavor and a good balance of lightly fruity malt with a nice hop presense (Cascade hops?). This medium-bodied beer is mellow on the palate. Overall this is a very good Blonde Ale.

Draught sample at Great Crescent Brewery in Aurora, Indiana. Rating #1 for this beer...
