Sampled all the brews there and this was the best ... thick and oily, with a sweet nutty aroma. Drinks with a nice rounded flavor of dark chocolate, sweet nut, and a little bit of vanilla. Delish. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 23, 2009 Draft at Rich Os. Ruby brown body with a diminishing tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, sweet coconut milk with hints of coffee and chocolate. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes much the same with a bit more bitterness that nicely balances the predominantly sweet flavors. Tastes of sugar with hints of toasted coconut and milk chocolate. Medium body, creamy texture and moderate carbonation. This was a pleasant surprise. Easy to drink with a nice set of complimentary flavors — the coconut well balanced with the roasted malts. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted ccoconut and malty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium roasted sweet coffee flavor with medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
Solid complex beer. Ryan82SM (268), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 28, 2008 Never heard of a coconut porter before, but seemed interesting enough. Definite coconut aroma with a nice dark appearance that was tan around the edges in the light. Flavor revealed more chocolate influences, surprising considering the aroma, but good. Creamy palate. A good offering, hope it sees the shelves soon. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA

It has a deep, dark brown cola color. The tan crown is dense. Lightly roasted malt and very subtle toasted coconut are present in the sweet aroma. The flavor contains creamy coffee, toasted coconut, and roasted malts. There is even some dark chocolate in the finish. Medium-bodied, smooth, and full-flavored, this is a great beer. The coconut smells and tastes like freshly toasted coconut and works really well with the other flavors. This is not merely a porter with artificial coconut flavor poured in. This is the real deal and very well-made!
