Commercial Description:
Dark and full-bodied, this is our interpretation of the classic English Porter style. Made with nine varieties of malt and assertively hopped, our porter is packed with flavor. Strong coffee and chocolate tones create a special brew for those advancing on the path of fine beer appreciation.

(Tap) Pours a very dark brown color with a small beige head. Coffee aroma and taste, with some burnt caramel in the taste as well. A good and balanced porter, which really makes the beer. Mouthfeel is a little thin for the style, but still a good brew.

Black body with small, tan head. The aroma is chocolate, roast, molasses and coffee. The flavor is milk chocolate and burnt. Dry with soft carbonation and thin.

Fantastic porter. Aroma is mild hops and toast. Mouthfeel is thin-medium, with low carbonation - perfect. The flavor is alarmingly refreshing, particularly for a dark beer. Tastes of minerals, earth, dark chocolate, burnt marshmallows. I’m describing a s’more made outdoors, I guess. Great beer, my favorite porter, and I wish I could get this in a bottle.

On tap at the Fitchburg location. The midnight black porter came in a small sampler glass with almost no head. From the aroma I picked up hints of expresso beans, malt and vanilla. The taste was straight up black coffee with a tinge of hazelnut and vanilla. Eventually a light fruity taste revealed itself as well in the subtle hoppiness. It felt a little thin but overall it was still very satisfying for a porter.

Pours black with tan head that fades quickly. Strong aroma of dark chocolate and coffee with a peanut butter finish. Flavor is mostly dark chocolate with some maltiness. Too chocolatey for me.

Dark black. Actually quite what I thought a porter should be here. Not over the top with its malt flavors but rather subtle. Oatmeal and chocolate. Caramel, roasted flavors. Nice touch without being heavy handed.
