Wonderful soft chocolate malty aroma, that precedes a taste that is much the same. Smooth almost oily texture, almost like it was nitroed, Taste stayed chocolate cookieish all the way through. Not full or strong enough to be rated among the absolute best, but still one of the nicest surprises in a while michidan07 (22), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA

Mouthfeel is thin-medium, with low carbonation - perfect. The flavor is alarmingly refreshing, particularly for a dark beer. Tastes of minerals, earth, dark chocolate, burnt marshmallows. I’m describing a s’more made outdoors, I guess. Great beer, my favorite porter, and I wish I could get this in a bottle. jkane (21), USA

I go for this beer third when enjoying beverages at the Great Dane. It’s a nice beer to drink 2 or 3 of before getting bored with it. dopplerted (8), Rochester, Minnesota, USA does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 9, 2007 This is a wonderful example of what a porter should be. Enjoyed at the downtown location in an imperial pint glass; this brew had a great aroma, a dark, completely opaque color, and a substantial mouth feel. The flavor was reminiscent of roasted nuts and dark roast coffee with a nice finish. If you’re into porters, then this is absolutely worth a try. JPDIPSO (4932), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA

Aromas of dark chocolate and coffee. Flavors are also of chocolate and coffee which lingers on the tongue through the finish. Hops actually kick in as it warms and in the finish. Aother fine effort. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

Medium caramel head that had excellent retention. Head appeared similar to a cappuccino, and looked very appetizing. Flavor was a well-balanced blend of coffee, chocolate, and caramel, and the beer had a pleasant coating mouthfeel. Aftertaste was just as good! I would certainly recommend this one. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

I loved it, far and away the best of the six I had at GD.
