noncaloric (601), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Nov 20, 2008 Updated: Mar 9, 2009Weakly nutty aroma. Slightly hazy brown pour, dense head, decent retention, not so much lacing. Flavor is deeply nutty, tannic like tea; floral hops play a secondary role. The tealike bitterness is somewhat off-putting to me. phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Oct 25, 2008 On cask at the Hilldale location: Pours a dull cloudy golden colour with a medium sized off white. Initial aromas of hops, smoke, orange and bananna. Creamy mouthfeel, flavors are decent- fruity, finishes off dry. Ughsmash (3978), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA May 28, 2008 On cask at Great Dane – Hilldale. Poured hazy medium golden with a thick, 2-finger cap of off-white head. The aroma showcased medium-skinned fruity sweetness in a cool way.. caramel and a touch of honey supported it from behind.. sweet and intriguing with a hint of tangerine right at the back. The flavor picked up sweet oranges and lighter fruits with building spicy pine and citrus bitterness.. finished dry with peppery notes and more light fruits.. tasty and well-balanced. Spicy and lighter-bodied on the palate with enjoyable sweet/bitter contrasts.. refreshing finish. Well done. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA May 13, 2008 From the beer engine at the brewpub (Hilldale). Poured a clear orange color. Head was dense, foamy, and white with good retention and lacing. Aroma was of light brown sugar and a whiff of flower blossom. Cellar temperature with a smooth mouth feel and very little carbonation, as expected. Earthy and light fruity flavors. I tasted mixed vegetables, tree bark, and the slightest hint of pineapple/mango. So so. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA May 11, 2008 Light amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma of sweet malts and mild floral hops. Kind of tasteless with a light bitter hop finish. Maybe my sample was a bit too warm. Petrucci914 (574), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Apr 20, 2008 Poured an amber color with a thin bubbly head Smell is medium malts with some floral hops. Taste is about the same, a slightly creamy and crisp taste. JPDIPSO (4863), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Apr 12, 2008 (Hilldale) Lightly hazed dark golden to amber color with a typical nitro pour, tight, small bubbled head. Pale floor malt and dry wild honey scents. Thins malt and floral hops flavors. Somewhat watery feel. Light bitter finish. Thin, blah, bitter light brew.
