Great Dane Crop Circle Wheat

On tap at Fitchburg location. Golden and hazy appearance. Sweet aroma with clove. Sweet, refreshing, and smooth. A little light on flavor, but still tasty. A reliable brew that this establishment has been kicking out for years.

9/05/2009: Great Dane Crop Circle Wheat... Aroma: Wheat with lots of corriander. Appearance: Cloudy tarnished goldto bronze color; frothy white head. Flavor: Initially picy with quite a bit corriander, clove, andfloral notes; a bit of creamy wheat malt. Palate: Medium-bodied, creamy texture. Overall: Surprisingly quite good; this is actually one of the few beers that a bit of fresh lemon complements well.

(Draught) Pours a cloudy yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, citrus, and banana. Flavor of wheat, lemon, clove, and banana.

Had as a sampler glass and and a 10 oz pilsner glass. Cloudy yellow hazy pour with a thin head of banana and cloves. Yeasty taste with banana hints and a slight bitter finish. 1st beer after 3 hours of the Farmer’s Market may have biased the score a few tenths.

Cloudy gold, white head with moderate lacing. Faint yeasty aroma. Flavors of citrus, banana, and nutmeg. Faint yeastiness, and a somewhat off sour mash element. Juicy mouthfeel, pleasantly coarse and lively.

Unfiltered. Nice white head. Yeast and clove aroma. Yeast flavor along with lemon. It features slight tartness and some effervescence. A good beer but pretty much an average hefe.

A rather thin wheat beer, with hints of lemon, grain, and mild tartness - a little phenolic character - not a lot more going on - a few soft floral notes make things a little more interesting - otherwise it’s mostly grainy and lemony.

Sampled at the brewery: This brew pours a nice hazey golden-orange coloured body, with a big fluffy head. Sweet aroma throughout of bananna and yeast. Plenty of wheat flavor, has a nice citrusy, creamy mouthfeel.
